What we collect, and what we don't.

The free transfer-request tool

The transfer-request builder runs entirely inside your own browser. The name, register number, facility, and home address you type are used on your device to generate the PDF and are not transmitted to us. The one exception is the optional email field: if you choose to enter an email address, that address is sent to us along with the information you entered, so we can follow up. Leave the email field blank and nothing is sent at all.

Information you send us directly

When you call, email, or submit a request, we collect what you provide — which may include your name, the name of a person in custody, contact information, facility, district, and a description of the matter. Payment, when you make one, is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Website analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which sources send visitors. This uses cookies and standard technical information such as browser type and referring page. IP anonymization is enabled, and we do not use analytics to identify you personally or to build advertising profiles. Information you type into the transfer-request tool is never sent to Google Analytics. Most browsers let you block cookies or browse privately if you prefer not to be measured.

Limits on confidentiality

Writ Large is a paralegal document-preparation service, not a law firm, and contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship or attorney-client privilege. Telephone calls and electronic messages from correctional facilities may be monitored or recorded by the facility. Consider that before discussing sensitive details through a monitored channel.

Deletion requests

To ask us to delete information you've sent, contact info@prisonerlegalaid.com or 786-408-5073. We will honor the request except where records must be retained for an active matter or by law.
